Hearing aids help make communication better and easier. One important part of using hearing aids is making sure they have good batteries. Hearing aid batteries are small, but they do a big job. They power your hearing aids so you can hear clearly every day. Just like your phone needs to be charged, your hearing aids need fresh batteries to work well.

There are different sizes and types of hearing aid batteries, and we can help you choose the right ones for your hearing aids. We also offer tips on how to take care of your batteries so they last longer.

At Link Audiology, we want to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy great hearing.

Two Types of Hearing Aid Batteries

  • Rechargeable batteries:  These are the newest type of hearing aid batteries. They can be charged by plugging them into a charger, and they will last for many charges before needing to be recharged again.
  • Non-rechargeable batteries: Non-rechargeables are the most common type of battery for hearing aids. They’re also known as zinc air cells, and they come in a variety sizes to fit different types or styles from behind ear models all the way up through large body worn devices. Zinc air batteries are best stored around room temperature to ensure that it lasts as long as possible.

Sizes of Hearing Aid Batteries

Hearing aid batteries come in a variety of sizes. The size is determined by the voltage, and it’s important to know what your hearing aids need before you buy any new ones.

Below are the sizes of hearing aid batteries available:

  • Size 10 – 5.8 mm wide by 3.6 mm high
  • Size 312 – 7.9 mm wide by 3.6 mm high
  • Size 13 – 7.9 mm wide by 5.4 mm high
  • Size 675 – 11.6 mm wide by 5.4 mm high

Hearing Aid Batteries Color Coding

Batteries are color-coded to indicate the size. The colors of hearing aid batteries can vary from manufacturer, but they will always be clearly labeled on packaging and in stores:

  • Size 10 batteries – yellow
  • Size 312 batteries – brown
  • Size 13 batteries – orange
  • Size 675 batteries – blue

Link Audiology provides hearing aid batteries in Washington. We carry most battery sizes so you never have any trouble finding what you’re looking for. We also offer discounts for bulk purchases of batteries (60 battery minimum).

Lifespan of Hearing Aid Batteries

The lifespan of a hearing aid battery depends on the size and type. Size 312 batteries last about three days, while sizes 13 or larger typically have an average life span between one to two weeks per charge cycle.

Size 12s are most commonly used in behind-the ear models because they provide more power than smaller cells for better sound quality. These type of hearing aid batteries can go up to four months before needing replacement with daily use

How long do hearing aid batteries last?

You may ask – what is the perfect amount of time for your battery life, and what factors can affect your decisions? It varies from individual to individual in terms of how much use they will get out of their batteries.

The benefits of having rechargeable batteries is that they are easy to use, less expensive than disposable ones, and safer than disposable ones. Disposable batteries are small and difficult to handle, and also harmful if swallowed. Rechargeable batteries last all day with no need to change out little batteries.
