Link Audiology offers industrial hearing screenings for you and your employees, so you can keep your business compliant with OSHA regulations. But there’s more to hearing screening than screening new hires. Our standard screening form provides a summary of results which is compliant with both OSHA and Washington State L&I guidelines. You, as the employer, will receive a copy as will the employees.

Baseline:

We test all of the standard puretone frequencies using properly calibrated equipment in a sound-isolated booth according to OSHA standards. At the baseline hearing screening, we establish how well your new employees are able to hear before they start working. That way we can track whether their hearing is changing as they are exposed to noise at work.

Annual Screening:

Industrial hearing screenings are done on an annual basis and the results compared to the baseline. If your employees are found to have a significant change in hearing, age correction factors are applied as necessary and follow-up testing scheduled. For more details on how to schedule you employees and track changes in hearing that may be due to noise exposure at work, feel free to email or call our office.

Measurements:

– Thresholds at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, 3000 Hz, 4000 Hz, 6000 Hz, and 8000 Hz.

– Puretone averages for 3-frequency and 4-frequency standards.

– Threshold shift from baseline with and without age correction factors applied.

– Percent binaural impairment (PBI) calculation.

Scheduling:

We offer flexible scheduling for industrial hearing screenings, including same-day appointments. You will usually be done with your screening within 10 minutes, but wait times can vary so it is usually best to call ahead and check on availability.
