If you are a current or former patient at Link Audiology, you should have received a letter informing you of a recent data breach. One of our emails accounts was hacked, and the account contained communications between our office and the company we have contracted to handle billing to insurance and patients. A copy of the letter is attached to the post. We have notified HHS and FTC as is required in these situations and have made every effort to secure our computer systems to prevent anything like this from happening again. As a precaution, we sent these notification letters to every patient in our database. If you received a letter, you may want to contact your bank to place a fraud alert on your account, as well as one of the credit bureaus (see a copy of the letter below).
